Kennesaw State University
Kennesaw State University (KSU) is Academic Engine’s first client in the state of Georgia and demonstrates the most comprehensive use of Academic Engine technology anywhere in the nation. KSU utilizes Virtual Advisor™ to instantly address student questions. Since its initial launch in September of 2002 the product has answered over 20,000 questions dynamically – providing prospective students the information they need without having to contact the admissions office. KSU also uses Knowledge Builder™ to manage incoming e-mail, build new content on the site while answering e-mails and also to process view book requests. Knowledge Builder was launched on March 10, 2003 and has already handled nearly 11,000 student requests.
KSU Admissions is also a leader in the field of collegiate telecenter operations. Prospects and inquiries receive personal phone calls and/or email responses to queries for materials and specific questions. Applicants may expect a series of communications from a telecounselor designed to instruct the applicant through the admission process.
To help enhance the already advanced telecounseling services offered, Kennesaw State University contracted with Academic Engine to develop and deploy a number of custom web technologies. During the summer of 2003 KSU will be bringing on line a custom web-based telecounseling module as well as a few more custom interactive features on the website. Joe Head, Dean of Enrollment Management at Kennesaw State University, is an expert in telecounseling with over 20 years of experience, his feedback is instrumental in the design and development of this module and will ensure a top of the line product.
Kennesaw State University, a residential commuter institution, is one of the fastest-growing members of the University System of Georgia.
